We have COVID-19 primary vaccines for ages 6 months and up, and bivalent boosters for ages 6 and up. It is recommended to have a bivalent booster 2 months after your last dose or 2nd booster. The bivalent booster offers protection against the original strain of the virus that causes covid-19 and some of the omicron variants. Vaccines are an efficient way to reduce illness, hospitalization, and death due to COVID-19. We offer appointments every Thursday in December by appointment. The Macon County Health Department offers a variety of vaccinations to allow you to choose the best vaccination for you and your family:
- mRNA vaccines
- Moderna Primary – ages 6 months and up
- Moderna Bivalent boosters – ages 6 and up
- Pfizer primary – ages 12 and up
- Pfizer bivalent booster – ages 12 and up
- Novavax – ages 12 and up
- A protein-based vaccine, similar technology to the hepatitis B vaccine
- Johnson & Johnson – ages 18 and up
