The Lafayette County Health Department has announced that 2 positive residents attended the music festival held at the Macon County Fairgrounds on September 3-5, 2020. Anyone who attended the music festival should monitor for symptoms and contact their primary care provider or the Health Department if they begin experiencing symptoms. Symptoms of COVID-19 can range from mild to moderate and could include: fever, cough, congestion, abnormal shortness of breath, muscle aches and chills, new loss of taste or smell, abnormal headache, abnormal fatigue and nausea/vomiting/diarrhea. Symptoms can take up to 14 days to begin after exposure.
The Macon County Health Department announces 9 new cases of COVID-19 in the county. Three are under the age of 10, three are age 10-19, one is a male age 20-29, one is a female age 30-39 and one is a male age 40-49.
Four are students at area schools and four are household contacts to a positive student or teacher at an area school. One case is community spread. The communities of Macon, Bevier and La Plata are affected by today’s press release.
At the time of this press release, the following reflects COVID-19 cases in Macon County –
- 154 positive cases
- 45 active positive cases
- 3 hospitalized (included in the positive case count)
- 109 released from isolation
In the last 24 hours, the state of Missouri has added 1,613 positive cases of COVID-19 bringing the state total to 102,747.
